When this article is being written, Trip N Treat has been running tours for 5 years. TNT was launched in October 2013. It took several few months until we’ve got our first booking from a Belgian couple. We picked them up in Surabaya. Drove them to Bromo, Banyuwangi and Ijen. Eventually, drop them at Ketapang ferry port.
Why Do We Do It?
TNT was founded by Siswoyo. He set it up with a dream of having flexible working time, be able to pay bills, and to support school libraries development around Indonesia.
Sis used to work as a school librarian. Fate brought him to tourism industry through community-based and ecotourism projects when he got a job at a local foundation that works on nature conservation. TNT is a synthesis of utilising tourism to support school libraries.
When you’re booking online a tour with TNT, you will find an extra recommendation of books donation package. In the last five years, TNT works with KupuBuku to donate over 1,500 children books to primary schools in East Java, Bali, Flores, and Papua. Some of these books were donation of TNT guests and the rest was bought by TNT by allocating around 20% of its small profit.
What Do We Do?
As a local tour operator, we’re happy to help you organising a tour around East Java such as Bromo, Ijen Crater and Sukamade. It includes dealing with private local transport (cause our current public transport system might not be as reliable as in your home country), booking rooms, finding a restaurant, and providing tour guide service.
So, you can stay focus on your work at home and get your international flight tickets ready.
While tours around East Java keep going on, TNT also grow partnership with more local service providers around Indonesia. Sis has visited some popular tourism destinations around Indonesia and got in touch directly with reliable local service providers. It enables us to offer you tours to other destinations such as Yogyakarta, Borobudur, Tanjung Puting, Bali, Lombok, and Flores.
